bs server hang

when trying to load a dumpfiles, it just hang without
prompting error.We tried to recycled the BS server, still
can't load. What we did is after recycled the bs server, we
issue a dump db first then, load dumpfiles that we needed.
And surprisingly it worked. Why? can somebody help on this?

Hi Holly,

It sounds like there was a sybmultbuf process that had one of the dump
files locked or some other process had the file locked. Once the lock was
released, you would have been able to load the database dump.

Take a look at the unix utility "lsof" to list the open files.
