we are using Adaptiver sybase anyware server(Ver 7) to store
data from an application.the database name is engine.db.
something happened two days ago and now we are unable to
logon to the database as some body changed the dba password
from default. how to get the password or reset the dba
password.
1)unable to recover from log file using backupdb(2 months
old) :
dbeng7 c:\backupdb\engine.db -a c:\BadLogFile\engine.log
Error:
Cannot open transaction log file—can’t use log file
since it has been used more recently than the database file

Questions:
1)where to find dbtran utility version 7;unable to open the
log file with dbtran utility version 10
2)How to reset the password
3)How to repair corrupted sybase database.

You might want to ask this in one of the ASA newsgroups.
This is an ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) newsgroup.
