Help!
I am trying to load a backup database from a dump file and I am getting the
following error message in the backup server log file.

A00: SYBMULTBUF ERROR: In basis_get_membufs, failed to create shared memory
segment for I/O buffers. CreateFileMapping call failed with system error=Not
enough storage is available to process this command
May 04 14:02:51 2006: Backup Server: 4.139.2.82: [23] The
'CreateFileMapping' call failed for device 'I:\pdidea_dump' with error
number 8 (Not enough storage is available to process this command). Refer to
your operating system documentation for further details. Look for 'May 04
14:02:51 2006: A00: SYBMULTBUF ERROR: ' in the backup server errorlog for
additional information from SYBMULTBUF.

Can anyone out there tell me what I can do to rectify this problem so that I
can load this dump file into my database.

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,

How close to the maximum shared memory have you set total memory or max
memory on ASE?
