hi.
i want to know if there is a faster way to make database up and running
after abnormal shutdown. we are using sybase sql anywhere 5.5.02.
one way is to delete the transaction log file and start the db forcefully.
but is it safe and am i going to lose any uncommited records?
does the size of transaction log matters? i renamed the transaction log
file, but then when i recover the database, it takes the same time.
- our users sometime restart the server by mistake or due to some other
reason. and they are retail. where customers are lined up. so , when i
reestart the server, it automatically try to recover the database and
sometimes takes ever 2 hours to do so.
our db size is approximately 1.5 gb.
any suggestion is appreciated.
